The smoothest operators have now been found by playing NAPCON Games Distiller at The Operator World Cup

NAPCON Operator World Cup 2017 finals were played on 8 February 2018 in Houston between operators from MOL Group and Neste. As the result of a tight fight between MOL Group and Neste operators, MOL Group operators managed to win the Operator World Cup with 34,777 points. MOL Group’s total score was 406,253 and Neste’s 371,476 points.
“Playing the NAPCON Games Distiller is educational but also engaging and fun. It is also very realistic and gives a possibility to train real disturbances in the oil refinery distillation process. It has been great to be part of this project of taking on NAPCON Games Distiller training games at MOL Group”, One of the participants of MOL Group team, Levente Törő says.
“The work of the operators is very demanding and it is good to be able to give them the credit that belongs to them. Controlling production is a highly responsible task and training the operators well is very important risk management. There is no room for mistakes in the process industry”, states Mika Neffling, Sales Manager for NAPCON Games.
The Operator World Cup consisted of qualifications by playing NAPCON Games Distiller online game (available at www.napconsuite.com), which is developed for process operators to train them basic distillation process in an oil refinery. From the qualifications and semi-finals in London, Houston, Dubai and Helsinki during the autumn 2017 made Neste and MOL Group’s top operators their way to the finals, which took place at the Operational Excellence event in Houston on 8 February 2018. The two teams consisted of three players, whose joint result was counted as the team result.
The players played one mission each of the NAPCON Games Distiller and the missions were 3.1, 3.3 and 3.5 in the finals. Missions were played at 4 times speed. The differences between the world’s greatest operators were very small.
